On June 21, 2001, BHP Iron Ore set a new world record for the longest and heaviest freight train. The train traveled from Yandi mine and Port Hedland in Western Australia. The train operated 172 miles with 682 loaded iron ore cars. The train weighed 99,734 tons and measured 4.57 miles in length. The train was run as a test of distributed power, with a combined eight GE AC6000 locomotives in five locations from front to rear of the train. |

ANNA CREEK STATION - WORLD'S LARGEST WORKING CATTLE RANCH
Anna Creek Station is the world’s largest working
cattle station. It is located in the Australian state of South Australia.
Anna Creek station has an area of 9,142 square miles,
which is slightly larger than Israel. It is over seven times the size of the
United States’ biggest ranch, King Ranch in Texas.
Once there was a large workforce of stockmen at Anna
Creek, who mustered the cattle on horses. Today, light aircraft are used for
spotting animals which are rounded up by stockmen riding motorbikes.

MOUNT WHCHEPROOF - SMALLEST MOUNTAIN IN THE WORLD

The
smallest mountain in the world is the little-known Mount Wycheproof at 141
feet above the surrounding terrain. However, the mountain stands 486 feet
above the sea level. The mountain is located in Terrick Terrick Range in
Australia. The range is in the small town of Wycheproof, Victoria. It can
also be said that the town is located on the summit of the mountain. Wycheproof
has a population of approximately 789 people.
