Saint Louis City
and Saint Louis County are more than 90% surrounded by the Mississippi,
Missouri and Meramec Rivers. There are only two land routes in and out of
this area which do not require a river crossing; Highway 100 and Route T, which
are both 2-lane roads at the Franklin County Line.

ST. LOUIS POPULATION LOSS
Saint Louis has lost 64% of its population since the 1950
U.S. Census, the highest percentage of any city that had a population of
100,000 or more at the time of the 1950 Census. Detroit, Michigan and
Youngstown, Ohio are the only other cities that have had population declines of
at least 60% in the same time frame.
