SUPER BOWL XIII - BLACK SUNDAY IN LAS VEGAS


MATCHUP:
Pittsburgh Steelers (14-2) v. Dallas Cowboys (12-4)

The point spread for the game opened at Pittsburgh -3.5 points. As the Steelers backers placed bets on them, the sports books adjusted the line. It eventually hit Pittsburgh -4.5 and then the Dallas money poured in on the Cowboys. It eventually settled at Pittsburgh -4; the worst number possible for Vegas. The final score: Steelers 35, Cowboys 31. The sports books lost the Steelers at -3.5 gave money back at 4 and lost on the Cowboys at +4.5. The game thus came to be known in Vegas as “Black Sunday”,
