Waimangu Volcanic Rift Valley, North Island, New Zealand The lake has a maximum width of 660 feet and an average depth of 20 feet. The lake maintains a temperature of about 122-140°.
Boiling Lake Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Dominica The lake has a maximum length of 200 feet and a maximum width of 200 feet. In 1875 water temperature along the edges ranged from 180-197°. Depth has been recorded as greater than 195 feet.
Grand Prismatic Spring Midway Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, Teton County, Wyoming 370 feet in diameter and 160 feet deep. Water temperature is 160°


Note: A hot spring is a spring produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater that rises from the Earth’s crust. While some of these springs contain water that is a safe temperature for bathing, others are so hot that immersion can result in injury or death.
