The Maryland State House, located in Annapolis, is the oldest U.S. state capitol in continuous legislative use, dating to 1772. The capitol has the distinction of being topped by the largest wooden dome in the United States constructed without nails. The dine was added to the building between 1785-94, and has a height of 181 feet, exterior to the weather vane. |
