HOW MANY STOP SIGNS ARE THERE IN THE CITY OF PARIS, FRANCE?

The answer is none. In Paris, cars don’t come to a full stop at any intersection without a traffic light. Cars on the right have the right of way, at both regular intersections and in traffic circles.

For some time, the city did have one stop sign. It stood at the exit of a construction facility on the Quai Saint-Exupéry, a riverside road in Paris’s 16th district on the outskirts of the city. Sometime between May 2012 and September 2014 it vanished and nobody knows why.

NATIONAL OCEAN MONTH - BAY OF FUNDY - WORLD'S HIGHEST TIDES

8 of the top 10 locations in the world where the largest range of tides have been observed are in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, Canada. Tides in this coastal zone reach a peak of around 50 feet. Twice each day, 160 billion tons of seawater flow in and out of the Bay of Fundy – more than the combined flow of the world’s freshwater rivers. The largest mean range is found at Burntcoat Head, Minas Basin, in the Bay of Fundy. Tides there have a mean range of 38.4 feet.

THE ALASKAN WAY VIADUCT REPLACEMENT TUNNEL

The Alaskan Way Viaduct replacement tunnel, also known as the SR 99 Tunnel, is a bored highway tunnel in Seattle. The 2-mile double-decker tunnel carries a section of State Route 99 under downtown Seattle.

Construction began in July 2013 using “Bertha”, at the time the world’s largest-diameter tunnel boring machine. Tunnel boring was completed in April 2017, and the tunnel opened to traffic on February 4, 2019.
