Grand Island in a town located in Erie County, New York. It has a total land area of 33.3 square miles, which makes it approximately the same size as Manhattan Island (33.58 square miles). Grand Island is the largest island in the Niagara River and third largest in New York state. The estimated population as of 2017 is 21,351. Grand Island is the most populated freshwater island in the United States. |
