The Wuhan Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Wuhan, operated by the Wuhan Metro Co., Ltd. Line 1 began operation on July 28, 2004 with the completion of a ten-station long elevated line between Huangpu Road and Zongguan. At 23.44 miles in length, Line 1 is the longest continuous metro viaduct* in the world. *A viaduct is a bridge composed of several small spans for crossing a valley, dry or wetland, or forming an overpass or flyover. |
